  NZR 1:24
Aussie 2004; July this year the A>F>R had the chance to visit some
Rlys in Sydney with accommodation & tours being arranged by Greg
Hunter of the Sandstone & Termite Rly, (many thanks once again).
The only condition was not to arrive empty handed, it was decide to
take the A & the F classes due to the fact they were the smallest to
carry on board the plane, plus a couple of runner wagons. There was
no worries with the customs except a few smiles when the bag was
X-rayed so with rolling stock, photos & video in hand the A.F.R
    arrived in Sydney!
  A62 crosses Gregs Baldwin
    steam tram at Sandstone
A62 dwarfed by the big S&TRly
   2-6-0+0-6-2 Garratt at Sandstone.
F72 coasting under a rocky ledge
   just out of Sandstone.
  A62 arrives at Ti-Tree with a small
goods & waits to cross next train.
  F72 arrives at Ti-Tree with a mixed
goods & takes the platform road.
A special thanks goes out to the Greg & Pauline
for putting up with me & letting the A.F.R ride
   the Sandstone & Termites rails!
L.H.R was next to visit I haven't a link to this one so here is a
brief description, this is a Rly based on the English settings &
country side. It has featured on the Gardening Show Burkes-
Backyard. It captures the scene well with all it's buildings & the
finer details such as people, signs etc. So hopefully in the future we
will see a site set up for this Rly.
Here is a shot looking over
   the town of Hoddleston.
A very English setting, F72 approaching
   a level crossing.
A62 arrives at a lovely stone
   block station, this building like
others is carved from Hebal, a
   air-rated type concrete block.
A62 leaves the main yard of
   Hobbleston with a short goods!
My thanks goes out to Geoff Hallam for the chance to
run on this English Garden Rly in Australia.
A62 slowly coasting past
  Turrella signal box to pick
up the staff for the next
  section.
F72 arriving at Girlieville
  with the porter looking on
at the odd site of NZR in
  district.
Comming to a stop to set
  off goods at Girlieville.
CME of the Turrella
  Tramway catching the
   moment! Sorry Mark I
just had to put it in
;-)
Many thanks to the Turrella Tramways CME Mark Hobbs for letting the AFR
run on the line. Also thanks to Christopher Hobbs for taking some of the photos
  used in the LHR section.
F72 drifts to a stop to
  take on water at Bottom
  Points.
A62 ready to depart
  Possum Point with a light
  Goods.
A62 coasting through the
  cutting.
A62 on the Dragon Rock
  bridge, a real bush tram-
  way look, Great Stuff!
Thanks to James McInerney for giving the AFR running rites to run on the
Rurr Valley Rly, we had a most enjoyable afternoon.
Once again I would like to thank everyone I met in Aussie for making me feel welcome & allowing
the AFR to run on there Railways. I only hope that in the near future we might see some Aussie
   locos running on the AFR
